Dr. Leger is a Board Certified Family Physician with over 18 years of medical practice experience. During the last few years, he has devoted his entire practice to Wound Care. He developed this passion for wound care while treating patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities when he was Medical Director.
He has completed specialized wound care training and is certified by the American Academy of Wound Management as a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), and the National Alliance of Wound Care as a Wound Care Certified (WCC). He is a fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. He has also completed Hyperbaric Medicine training.
Dr. Leger is a member of several Wound Care Organizations and his active participation permits him to stay abreast of current wound care developments, research, and innovations. He recently attended the Third World Union of Wound Healing Societies in Toronto. He has participated in several advanced wound care product studies.
As a member of the American Academy of Home Care Physicians, he dedicates a large portion of his practice visiting and treating homebound patients. Being able to treat these patient's wound in their home environment is a very rewarding experience.
He has given lectures on several wound care topics to the general public and healthcare professionals. Wound care education to families and nursing staff is of upmost importance in the healing process and is therefore a very high priority in our day to day activities.
